2017 Nov 7

Curry College is pleased to announce that Rockland resident Kimberlie Jean-Poix is the assistant stage manager for Curry Theatre's production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill." Prior to attending Curry, Kimberlie, a Freshman Criminal Justice major and daughter of Berdine Sanon, stage-managed at Rockland High School.

Curry Theatre is proud to present a pair of old-school comedies during its Fall 2017 Black Box production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill" and "Sganarelle."

"The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill," directed by David Miller, is a situation comedy that is more than 500 years old yet reminds us of life today. Quill, an amateur lawyer and master scam artist, and his wife, Madge bamboozle Joss, the cloth merchant, out of his goods. However, Quill's luck does not last forever, as his clever tricks start to backfire.

"Sganarelle," directed by Betsy Goldman, is a one-act comedy written by Moliere that explores the consequences of jealousy in an absurd series of arguments and misunderstandings involving Sganarelle, his wife, and young lovers, Celie and Lelie.
