Curry College Recognizes Students Involved in the Black Box Production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill"

2017 Nov 7

Curry College is pleased to announce that Hardyston resident Paige Dunlap has been cast as Madge in Curry Theatre's production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill." While Paige, a Senior Communication major and daughter of Gary Dunlap and Susan O'Connor, is making her debut performance, she has been involved behind the scenes at Curry Theatre for several years. She currently serves on the theatre supervisory board as the Absolute Improv liaison, and was the assistant director for the "New Plays Festival" during the Spring 2017 semester.

Curry Theatre is proud to present a pair of old-school comedies during its Fall 2017 Black Box production of "The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill" and "Sganarelle."

"The World-Famous Farce of Peter Quill," directed by David Miller, is a situation comedy that is more than 500 years old yet reminds us of life today. Quill, an amateur lawyer and master scam artist, and his wife, Madge bamboozle Joss, the cloth merchant, out of his goods. However, Quill's luck does not last forever, as his clever tricks start to backfire.

"Sganarelle," directed by Betsy Goldman, is a one-act comedy written by Moliere that explores the consequences of jealousy in an absurd series of arguments and misunderstandings involving Sganarelle, his wife, and young lovers, Celie and Lelie.
